About the Author Cheralyn Darcey is an environmental artist and Flower Reader and the author and illustrator of the Australian Wildflower Reading Cards and the Flower Reading Cards (Rockpool Publishing). Cheralyn has a lifelong connection with the study of the relationship between people and plants. Though her work is many faceted it is through her explorations that she has slowly rekindled the ancient tradition of Flower Reading, (Floramancy). As a teacher of creative arts with a focus on environmental arts, she has had a 30-year commitment to sharing her passion for Nature based traditions and Ethnobotany. Cheralyn's art has featured in workshops, exhibitions, art prizes and publications internationally. Working in Waste to Art Mediums and Mixed Media, Cheralyn finds that creating works that encourage others to look a little deeper at our existing resources and in turn encourages greater care and understanding of Earth and ourselves. She was a selected Environmental Artist in Residence at the International Conference of Eco Ideas in 2011 and has also presented at the Australian Museum, North Head Environment Sanctuary, where she was also Artist in Residence during the Year of Biodiversity. Cheralyn has a long history of association with the Manly Environment Centre, supporting their projects and creating eco art to highlight current initiatives. She has created major Artworks for the Cancer Council, Manly Festival of Surf and The Royal Australian Navy.
